Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to all Mandarin language lessons and courses provided by Mandarin Lab Utrecht, registered as a sole proprietorship (eenmanszaak) in the Netherlands.

Article 1 – Registration

• Registration is open to persons aged 16 and above.
• Registration can be completed by filling in the online application or by direct communication with Mandarin Lab Utrecht.
• Registration is confirmed only after payment of the selected lesson or lesson package.
• Students may choose between individual lessons or small group lessons (maximum of 3 students).
• After registration, students will receive a confirmation email with lesson details.

Article 2 – Payment

• Students may choose between pay-as-you-go lessons or lesson packages (5, 10, 15, or 20 lessons).
• Payment must be made before the start of the first lesson or package.
• Payments can be made online via a payment link (Tikkie or bank transfer).
• Mandarin Lab Utrecht is exempt from VAT (BTW vrijgesteld onderwijs).
• It is not possible to pay in instalments or to arrange special payment agreements.

Article 3 – Cancellation and Refunds

• For 1-on-1 lessons, cancellation or rescheduling requires at least 24 hours’ notice.
• If cancelled less than 24 hours before the scheduled time, the full fee will be charged.
• For group courses, if a student decides not to participate, cancellation must be made in writing by email.
• Cancellations made at least 2 weeks before the course start date will be fully refunded.
• Cancellations made later than 2 weeks before the course start date are non-refundable.
• If a course is cancelled by Mandarin Lab Utrecht, the full course fee will be refunded.

Article 4 – Lesson Validity and Absence

• Lesson packages must be used within six months of purchase unless otherwise agreed in writing.
• In case of prolonged absence (e.g. illness or travel), students should contact Mandarin Lab Utrecht to discuss rescheduling options.
• Missed lessons without proper notice will not be refunded or rescheduled.

Article 5 – Prices and Changes

• All prices are listed on the official website: www.mandarinlabutrecht.com.
• Mandarin Lab Utrecht reserves the right to change course prices.
• Price changes do not affect confirmed registrations that have already been paid for.

Article 6 – Confidentiality and Privacy

• All personal data provided by students will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy of Mandarin Lab Utrecht.
• Personal information is used solely for communication and administrative purposes related to lessons.

Article 7 – Use of Photos and Videos

• Photos and videos may be taken during classes and events for social media or marketing purposes.
• Mandarin Lab Utrecht will always request consent before publishing any identifiable images or videos.
• Students may withdraw their consent at any time by contacting info@mandarinlabutrecht.com.

Article 8 – Liability

• Mandarin Lab Utrecht is not liable for loss, damage, or theft of personal belongings during lessons or activities.
• Participation in lessons and events is at the student’s own risk.
• Mandarin Lab Utrecht is not responsible for accidents, injuries, or personal circumstances that prevent lesson attendance.

Article 9 – Governing Law

• These Terms and Conditions are governed by Dutch law.
• Any disputes arising from these terms will be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands.

Article 10 – Acceptance of Terms

• By registering and paying for lessons or courses, the student confirms that they have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
